A Teenager War Cry © — by Marnier Crockton

To all you grown up folks out there in authority…
Could I have a moment of your time?
Time from your drug deals and gun deals that have provided the vehicles for so many children to be killed…
Time from you playing the blame games…
blaming the poor for the ills of the world,
blaming the gays for moral decay,
blaming unwed mothers for keeping their babies,
blaming the babies to get political flavors,
Could I have a moment of your time?
Time from your high powered jobs where we witness you rob… rob the poor… rob the future, and yes… rob your own rich people,
Time from your lying that crime in the streets is caused by young gang bangers disturbing the peace… BANG, BANG… I am standing my Ground,
Time from your teaching and preaching but just not reaching… not reaching the violent in the streets, abusive homes, turned off kids, stressed out kids… come on teachers and preachers,
Time from you creating pollution without creating solutions… all the while singing this land is our land… really?
I need a moment of your time,
Too many people are dying from the lack of healthcare, not from the lack of some politicians trying
Too many mothers and fathers are crying
cause their sons and daughters are dying.
Too many sons and daughters are dying because too many of you are lying,
Lying that… drugs are the answer to our economic problems
Lying that… guns can solve a man's problems
Could I have a moment of your time?
