Friends, well wishers, prayer warriors — I thank God for each of you. Many of you have been with us for the past year in prayer and giving to DBHF.
On October 1, 2014, Markel received a heart transplant. It is bittersweet because a 29-year-old person lost his life to give life and hope to my son. We honor this precious gift and will take good care of it. We hold the donor's family in our prayers and heart nightly.
Markel's girls told him that we will take the new heart to many places and do the things the donor didn't get to do.
He is recovering and doing the things required by his team of doctors. Keep us in your prayer as we travel a new reality over the next year.
